T5 Tube

A slim tubular lamp format with a nominal diameter of five eighths of an inch.

Bulb Technology

Available Bulb Base

A slim tubular lamp format with a nominal diameter of five eighths of an inch.

How to identify T5 Tube

T means tubular and 5 represents five eighths of an inch in nominal diameter. Straight linear versions commonly use G5 bi-pin ends.

Common applications

Offices, retail shelves, cabinet lighting, commercial coves, workshops and compact linear fixtures.

Technologies and base options

T5 tubes are available as fluorescent lamps and LED replacements in multiple lengths and outputs. Fluorescent T5 and T5 High Output systems use different electrical specifications.

Technologies represented in this library: LED, Fluorescent.

Available base types: G5.

Typical market availability

Technology Common wattage range Typical lumen range Common colour temperatures Common voltage options
LED 4–30 W 400–4000 lm 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 5000K, 6500K 120V; 220–240V; ballast-dependent options
FLUORESCENT 4–80 W 200–7000 lm 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 5000K, 6500K Ballast-operated

These are representative market ranges, not guaranteed limits. Availability varies by manufacturer, voltage, base, beam, region and product generation.

How to select the correct lamp

Match length, G5 pins and original lamp designation, then determine whether the LED option is ballast-compatible, ballast-bypass or externally driven.

Compatibility and safety

A tube that fits physically may not match the ballast or wiring. T5 and T8 tubes are different diameters and use different pin spacing.

Important: The library describes a lamp format, not a particular product. A shared shape does not guarantee matching voltage, base, dimensions, light distribution or control-gear requirements. Confirm the fixture label and product datasheet, or ask a Bulb World lighting specialist.

Replacement Notes

Match length, G5 pins and original lamp designation, then determine whether the LED option is ballast-compatible, ballast-bypass or externally driven.

Capability Warning

A tube that fits physically may not match the ballast or wiring. T5 and T8 tubes are different diameters and use different pin spacing.
