A short single-turn compact fluorescent format used in small downlights, task lights and wall-mounted fixtures.
PL-S is a compact twin-tube format. G23 versions generally use two pins, while 2G7 versions use four pins and separate electronic control gear.
Small downlights, desk lamps, corridor fittings, wall sconces, hospitality rooms and compact commercial fixtures.
PL-S lamps are available as fluorescent products and LED replacements in several wattages, lengths and base configurations.
Technologies represented in this library: Fluorescent, LED.
Available base types: G23, 2G7.
| Technology | Common wattage range | Typical lumen range | Common colour temperatures | Common voltage options |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FLUORESCENT | 5–13 W | 250–900 lm | 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 6500K | Ballast-operated |
| LED | 2–7 W | 250–900 lm | 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 5000K, 6500K | 120–240V direct-wire or ballast-compatible, depending on product |
These are representative market ranges, not guaranteed limits. Availability varies by manufacturer, voltage, base, beam, region and product generation.
Read the wattage and base code, count the pins, measure the lamp and verify ballast or direct-wire requirements before selecting a replacement.
G23 and 2G7 versions are not interchangeable. Two lamps with the same PL-S appearance may require different control gear.
Important: The library describes a lamp format, not a particular product. A shared shape does not guarantee matching voltage, base, dimensions, light distribution or control-gear requirements. Confirm the fixture label and product datasheet, or ask a Bulb World lighting specialist.
