How to identify A15

The letter A identifies the familiar pear-like general-service envelope. The number 15 represents a nominal maximum diameter of 15 eighths of an inch, or approximately 1⅞ inches.

Common applications

Ceiling fans, compact table lamps, signs, appliance-rated fixtures and decorative fittings with limited space.

Technologies and base options

A15 lamps are manufactured in LED and incandescent versions and may use candelabra, medium screw or bayonet bases depending on market and application.

Technologies represented in this library: LED, Incandescent.

Available base types: E12, E26, E27, B22.

Typical market availability

INCANDESCENT 15–60 W 80–600 lm Approximately 2700K 12V; 120V; 220–240V

How to select the correct lamp

Match the actual base, voltage and overall length. For refrigerators, ovens and other appliances, use only a lamp specifically rated for that appliance and its operating temperature.

Compatibility and safety

Sharing the A15 shape does not make every A15 suitable for appliances, enclosed fixtures or dimmers.

Important: The library describes a lamp format, not a particular product. A shared shape does not guarantee matching voltage, base, dimensions, light distribution or control-gear requirements. Confirm the fixture label and product datasheet, or ask a Bulb World lighting specialist.

Replacement Notes

Match the actual base, voltage and overall length. For refrigerators, ovens and other appliances, use only a lamp specifically rated for that appliance and its operating temperature.
