BR20

A compact bulged-reflector lamp designed to produce a broad flood of light from small recessed or directional fixtures.

Bulb Technology

Available Bulb Base

A compact bulged-reflector lamp designed to produce a broad flood of light from small recessed or directional fixtures.

How to identify BR20

BR means bulged reflector. BR20 has a nominal diameter of 20 eighths of an inch, or 2½ inches, with a rounded transition between the neck and reflector.

Common applications

Compact recessed downlights, kitchens, hospitality spaces, retail displays, track lights and broad accent lighting.

Technologies and base options

BR20 lamps are offered in LED and legacy incandescent versions, generally with medium screw bases and flood distributions.

Technologies represented in this library: LED, Incandescent.

Available base types: E26, E27.

Typical market availability

Technology Common wattage range Typical lumen range Common colour temperatures Common voltage options
LED 4–9 W 350–750 lm 2200K, 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 5000K 120V; 220–240V
INCANDESCENT 30–50 W 200–500 lm Approximately 2700K 120V; 220–240V

These are representative market ranges, not guaranteed limits. Availability varies by manufacturer, voltage, base, beam, region and product generation.

How to select the correct lamp

Match base, voltage, diameter and overall length, then compare lumens, beam spread, colour temperature, dimming and enclosure rating.

Compatibility and safety

BR20, R20 and PAR20 share a nominal diameter but differ in envelope construction, beam control and possible wet-location suitability.

Important: The library describes a lamp format, not a particular product. A shared shape does not guarantee matching voltage, base, dimensions, light distribution or control-gear requirements. Confirm the fixture label and product datasheet, or ask a Bulb World lighting specialist.

Replacement Notes

Match base, voltage, diameter and overall length, then compare lumens, beam spread, colour temperature, dimming and enclosure rating.

Capability Warning

BR20, R20 and PAR20 share a nominal diameter but differ in envelope construction, beam control and possible wet-location suitability.
