How to identify RGBW LED Strip Light

RGBW strip commonly uses five conductors: one shared supply connection, separate red, green and blue channels, and a dedicated white channel. Some addressable systems use different wiring.

Common applications

Hotels, restaurants, entertainment spaces, retail displays, signage, feature walls and architectural accents that also require usable white light.

Technologies and connection options

The dedicated white channel produces more practical white illumination than RGB mixing alone. The strip requires a compatible RGBW controller and correctly sized power supply.

Technologies represented in this library: LED.

Available base or connection types: Five-Pin RGBW, Soldered Lead.

Typical market availability

LED

Common power: 4–7 W

Typical output: 100–400 lm

Colour options: RGB plus a dedicated white channel commonly offered in 2400K–6500K options

Voltage: Commonly 24V DC

Notes: Power and representative white-light output figures are per foot.

These are representative market ranges, not guaranteed limits. Availability varies by manufacturer, voltage, length, environmental rating, region and product generation.

How to select the correct system

Match voltage, strip width, wattage per foot, five-channel wiring order, white-channel colour temperature, controller, driver capacity, cut interval and environmental rating.

Compatibility and safety

RGBW, RGB and tunable-white strips are not interchangeable. Confirm the conductor count, channel order and controller type before connection.

Important: This library entry describes a lighting format, not a particular product. Similar appearance does not guarantee matching voltage, connectors, dimensions, output, environmental rating or control requirements. Confirm the product label and datasheet, or ask a Bulb World lighting specialist.

Replacement Notes

Match voltage, strip width, wattage per foot, five-channel wiring order, white-channel colour temperature, controller, driver capacity, cut interval and environmental rating.

Capability Warning

RGBW, RGB and tunable-white strips are not interchangeable. Confirm the conductor count, channel order and controller type before connection.
